Eligibility
- Postgraduate Medical Degree (MD / MS / DNB / M.Ch / DM) or equivalent in the concerned specialty, recognised by MCI, and registered with the Medical Council of India or a State Medical Council.
- Those who have already completed 3 years of Senior Residency are not eligible for SR. Earlier SR service in any central institution counts towards the 3-year limit.
- Only Indian nationals can apply.
- Persons earlier removed from this institute for misconduct are not eligible.
Age Limit (as on 05.10.2026)
- Upper age limit: 45 years
- OBC: 3 years relaxation
- SC: 5 years relaxation
- Govt. servants (through proper channel): 5 years
- Widows / deserted women / judicially separated women (not remarried): 10 years
- SC/OBC candidates applying against unreserved posts get no age relaxation. OBC reservation follows U.T. Chandigarh rules.
Salary
Rs 67,700 (minimum pay, 1st cell of Level-11) as per Part A of the Pay Matrix, plus NPA @ 20%, as per the Central Government Services (R. Pay) Rules, 2016.
Application Fee
Rs 500 (Rs 250 for SC candidates), paid on the spot at GMCH. If you apply for more than one post or department, you pay only once. The fee is non-refundable.

Documents Required
- Application in the prescribed format (the form is attached at the end of the notice PDF; the notice says it is also on the GMCH website) with a recent passport-size photograph
- Self-attested copies of educational qualifications, experience and date of birth proof
- Registration certificate with MCI / State Medical Council
- Internship completion certificate
- MBBS mark sheets (1st Prof, 2nd Prof, Final Prof Part-I & II)
- Valid reservation certificate (if applicable)
- NOC from present employer – government employees must apply through proper channel and submit NOC within 3 days of the interview
- Originals of all certificates
Incomplete applications or applications in any other format will be rejected. No TA/DA is paid. Selected candidates must apply afresh when the regular advertisement is released.
