Educational Qualification

• Civil / Electrical / Mechanical: Degree in the relevant branch of Engineering with minimum 60% marks.
• System: Recognized 1st Class Degree in BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (CS/IT), or MCA.
• Geology: M.Sc./M.Tech in Geology or Applied Geology, with 60% marks.
• Rajbhasha: MA in Hindi with 60% marks.
• Company Secretary: Graduation with a Company Secretary qualification (Associate/Fellow Membership of ICSI).
• SC/ST/PwBD candidates get 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks (55% required where 60% is prescribed).

Selected candidates join as Management Trainee in E-1 Grade, in the pay scale of Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,80,000, with an initial Basic Pay of Rs. 60,000 per month during training. Selected candidates must execute a service agreement bond of Rs. 3 Lakh at the time of joining, with Rs. 5,000 per month deducted from salary against this bond.

Selection Process

Selection is based purely on marks scored in a single Computer Based Test (CBT). There is no interview.

• Duration: 3 hours, in one sitting.
• Paper-I (100 marks): General Knowledge/Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and General English — 100 MCQs.
• Paper-II (100 marks): Professional Knowledge (Discipline-related) — 100 MCQs.
• Each correct answer carries 1 mark; there is no negative marking for wrong answers.
• The question paper is bilingual (English and Hindi); the English version is final in case of any translation error.
• Candidates can choose up to three preferred Test Cities, but CIL may allot any test city.
