The 660 posts (638 under POWERGRID, including backlog vacancies, plus 30 under CTUIL) are spread across six post categories and multiple regions of India:

Selected candidates must execute a service agreement bond to serve POWERGRID/CTUIL for a minimum of 3 years: Rs. 2,50,000 (General/OBC-NCL/EWS) or Rs. 1,25,000 (SC/ST/PwBD) for DTE/DTC/DTS/JOT posts; Rs. 1,25,000 or Rs. 62,500 respectively for JTT (Survey).

Selection Process

1. Written Test / Computer Based Test (CBT): 170 objective-type questions in 2 hours — Part I (120 questions: Technical/Professional Knowledge) and Part II (50 questions: Aptitude, English, Reasoning, Quantitative Ability, General Awareness). Each correct answer gets 1 mark; wrong/multiple answers get a negative mark of 1/4.
2. Computer Skill Test (CST): For JOT (HR) and JOT (F&A) posts, qualifying in nature.
3. Trade Test: For JTT (Survey) post, qualifying in nature.
4. Pre-Employment Medical Examination: Final stage before appointment.

Qualifying marks in the CBT: for DTE/DTC/DTS/JOT posts, minimum 30% in each part and 40% aggregate (Unreserved/EWS), or 25% in each part and 30% aggregate (Reserved). For JTT (Survey), minimum 40% aggregate (Unreserved/EWS) or 30% (Reserved). Final merit for DTE/DTC/DTS is based 100% on the CBT; for JOT and JTT (Survey) posts, the CBT score decides merit subject to qualifying the CST/Trade Test.
