The 404 vacancies are spread across 28 sports disciplines (Men and Women combined for each), as per the official notification:

Each discipline is further split by event/weight category and by Men/Women. DG, SSB reserves the right to increase, decrease, fill, or not fill the vacancies, or to postpone/cancel the advertisement, without assigning any reason.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

18 to 23 years, with relaxation for reserved categories: up to 5 years for General/EWS, 8 years for OBC, and 10 years for SC/ST.

Educational Qualification

Matriculation (10th Class) or equivalent from a recognized board or institute.

Sports Qualification

Sports achievement is considered in order of preference:

1. Sportspersons who represented a state or the country in National or International competitions.
2. Medal winners in Senior/Junior National Championships.
3. Medal winners in Khelo India Youth Games (above 18 years), Khelo India Winter Games, or Khelo India Para Games.
4. Medal winners in Khelo India University Games.
5. Medal winners in School Games Federation of India (SGFI) events.
6. Sportspersons who represented their University in Inter-University Tournaments.
7. Sportspersons who represented their State School Teams in National School Games.

Sports achievements are considered from the past 2 years; the cut-off date is 30 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in Employment News.

Selected candidates get Pay Matrix Level-3, Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 (7th CPC), plus other allowances admissible in the Force. The post is temporary but likely to continue, and selected candidates are covered under the Contribution Pension Scheme (New Pension Scheme).
