About This Recruitment
This recruitment reflects NFSU Tripura Campus’s continued expansion of its forensic science, physical/chemical sciences and cyber security academic programmes in North-East India. Given that NFSU is a specialized central university dedicated to forensic science education, the inclusion of General Chemistry and General Physics faculty posts reflects the foundational science coursework required for forensic science programmes, while the Cyber Security & Digital Forensics posts address the rapidly growing demand for digital forensics expertise in criminal investigation and cybercrime response. Since the University explicitly allows for a lower-remuneration appointment pathway (Master’s + NET) when Ph.D.-qualified candidates are unavailable, this recruitment offers meaningful opportunities for both established academics and early-career NET-qualified candidates in Chemistry, Physics and Cyber Security disciplines to join a specialized, nationally significant institution.
About NFSU Tripura Campus
National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) operates as an institution of national importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, with its Tripura Campus located at Radhanagar, Agartala, serving North-East India’s growing need for trained forensic science, criminology and cyber security professionals. NFSU’s academic structure is deliberately interdisciplinary, promoting collaboration between academic staff across schools such as the School of Forensic Science and the School of Cyber Security & Digital Forensics (SCSDF), reflecting the reality that modern criminal investigation increasingly requires integrated expertise spanning chemistry, physics, biology, digital forensics and law. As NFSU expands its regional campuses, including Tripura, contractual faculty recruitment drives like this one play a critical role in quickly staffing foundational science and specialized cyber security courses while the University builds out its permanent faculty cadre.
Career Value of This Contractual Faculty Role
For PhD holders and NET-qualified Master’s degree candidates in Chemistry, Physics, or Cyber Security & Digital Forensics, this contractual Assistant Professor role at a specialized national forensic sciences university offers valuable teaching experience at a rapidly growing, nationally significant institution, along with exposure to forensic science pedagogy that differs meaningfully from conventional university teaching. Given that NFSU explicitly recognizes publications across UGC-CARE, SCOPUS, Thomson Reuters, Elsevier and other internationally recognized journal lists, candidates with an active research publication record in their discipline will find their academic credentials directly relevant to this opportunity, whether they are pursuing an academic career pathway or seeking to build teaching experience in a specialized forensic and cyber security education environment ahead of future permanent faculty opportunities.
Documents Required with Application
Candidates should keep the following self-attested documents ready before dispatching their application via speed post: Matriculation/10th certificate for date of birth proof, Master’s degree and mark sheets, Ph.D. degree/provisional certificate (if applicable), NET/SLET/SET certificate (where applicable in lieu of a Ph.D.), category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwD, if claiming reservation benefit), a recent passport-size photograph, proof of teaching/research experience (if any), a list of publications with proof, and the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer where applicable.
