There is no interview for this post. The exact date of the Main Examination will be intimated separately by the Commission in due course through its website.

How to Apply

  1. Candidates must apply online only through the Commission’s official website, upsssc.gov.in, under the “Live Advertisement” segment on the homepage. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted.
  2. Login/authentication is done using the candidate’s PET-2025 registration number, followed by OTP verification sent to the registered mobile number/email.
  3. Candidates’ personal details already recorded during PET-2025 (name, parent’s name, category, EWS status, horizontal reservation details, date of birth, gender, marital status, contact details) will be auto-displayed and cannot be edited at this stage, except for specific fields listed in the correction window.

This correction facility is available only until 14 October 2026, the last date specified in the advertisement; no correction requests will be entertained after this date under any circumstances, and the Commission will not accept any separate representation for error correction beyond this window.

About Junior Engineer (Agriculture) as a Career

The post of Junior Engineer (Agriculture) under the Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Directorate is a technical Group ‘C’ government position responsible for supporting farm mechanization, irrigation and drainage infrastructure, land reclamation, soil and water conservation works, and the promotion of non-conventional energy applications such as biogas and solar technology in the state’s agriculture sector. Candidates selected to this Level-6 pay matrix post work at the grassroots level supporting the state’s agricultural engineering initiatives, making it a technically grounded and socially impactful career path for diploma holders in Agricultural Engineering. Given that this is a two-stage recruitment (PET followed by a subject-specific Main Examination), candidates who have already cleared PET-2025 with a valid score card hold a significant advantage, since the pool of applicants for the Main Examination is restricted to PET-qualified candidates only.

Preparation Tips for Candidates

Since the Main Examination carries a substantial 65 marks (out of 100) from core Agricultural Engineering subject knowledge spanning farm power, IC engines, tractors, non-conventional energy, post-harvest technology, irrigation and drainage engineering, and land reclamation, candidates are advised to revise their diploma-level coursework thoroughly across all 13 listed topics rather than focusing narrowly on a few. The remaining 35 marks are split between Computer & IT awareness (15 marks) and Uttar Pradesh State General Knowledge (20 marks) — both scoring areas that reward regular current-affairs reading and basic computer literacy revision. Given the strict negative marking of 25% per wrong answer, candidates should attempt questions they are reasonably confident about rather than guessing indiscriminately, since three wrong answers can offset the marks gained from one correct answer.
