Who Can Apply

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

• Post Graduation (Master Degree) in the concerned subject, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
• Passed the Bachelor in Education Degree (B.Ed.). In case B.Ed. candidates are not available, non-B.Ed. candidates can also be considered.
• Must be a Retired Teacher of Kalahandi District, not exceeding 65 years of age, and physically fit.

Duties and Responsibilities of Guest Teacher

• Teaching students in the classroom in the concerned subject as per syllabus.
• Timely correction of class and home assignments, test papers, projects, etc.
• Any other work, such as hostel responsibility or official work of the Principal’s office, shall not be entrusted to any Guest Teacher.

Terms and Conditions

• Guest Teachers may be hired only against a sanctioned vacant post, till joining of a regular teacher or for a particular academic year, whichever is earlier.
• A Guest Teacher has no claim or right to appointment on a regular or contractual basis, nor forms part of the SSD Department’s teacher cadre.
• Working hours and duration shall be as per the school timetable.
• Engagement automatically ends once a regular/contractual teacher is appointed against the vacant post.
• Performance is reviewed monthly by the Principal; unsatisfactory performance leads to immediate disallowal.
• Engagement automatically ends if the Guest Teacher remains unauthorizedly absent continuously for 7 days.
• Misconduct or creating disturbances leads to immediate disallowal by the Principal.
• Guest Teachers are not permitted to stay in school premises after official working hours, and no accommodation will be provided.

Honorarium

• Rs. 400 per class/period, not exceeding Rs. 16,000 in a month.
• A Guest Teacher may take a maximum of 40 classes/periods per month, of minimum 45 minutes each.
• Honorarium is paid by the District Welfare Officer based on the honorarium claim sheet submitted by the Principal. Any excess payment noticed will be recovered from the concerned Principal.

Mode of Selection

After receipt of applications, verification of original documents/certificates will be held at the office of the DWO, Kalahandi (date to be indicated on the notice board). Eligible candidates will be informed through the district website, kalahandi.odisha.gov.in, to attend the verification process. Selection is based on the following weightage:

Academic Weightage (Maximum 70 Marks)

Training Weightage (Maximum 30 Marks)

A list of selected candidates, based on the total marks calculated (Academic + Training weightage), will be empanelled for engagement as Guest Teacher. Selected candidates will be intimated through the district website for their engagement.
