How Selection Works
This is a multi-stage process, and each stage only exists to narrow the field for the next – marks from earlier stages don’t carry forward:
- Stage 1 – Shortlisting: Your online application is screened based on desirable qualifications and relevant experience, to shortlist candidates for the next stage.
- Stage 2 – Skill/Trade Test: A qualifying-only Computer Skill Test and/or Trade Test, used purely to further narrow the candidate pool before the written test.
- Stage 3 – Written Test: A 100-mark test (Part-A General – 50 marks, plus a subject-specific part), with the syllabus published on the Institute’s website. Final selection depends entirely on your written test score.
Being called for the written test only means you’re in the running – it isn’t a guarantee of selection, since the actual number of vacancies stays limited.
