GSSSB Staff Nurse Recruitment 2026: 131 Posts (Advt 458), Apply Online on OJAS by 12 October

Gujarat Gaun Seva Pasandgi Mandal (GSSSB), Gandhinagar has released Advertisement No. 458/2026-27 for 131 posts of Staff Nurse, Class-3. The posts are under the Director, Employees’ State Insurance Scheme office, Health and Family Welfare Department. B.Sc. Nursing or GNM holders aged 18 to 35 years can apply online on OJAS until 12 October 2026 (11:59 PM). The pay is a fixed Rs 40,800 per month for the first five years.

Category-wise Vacancy Details

Out of the total, 13 posts are reserved for Ex-Servicemen. PwD posts shown are 00 – posts for disabled candidates will be advertised separately under a special recruitment drive. Reserved posts are only for reserved category candidates of Gujarat origin. The number of posts may change.

Who Can Apply

Indian citizens (or those eligible under Rule 7 of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967) with B.Sc. Nursing or GNM, basic computer knowledge and knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi can apply. Age and other relaxations for reserved categories are only for candidates of Gujarat origin.

Educational Qualification

• B.Sc. (Nursing) from a University established under a Central or State Act, or a deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, recognised by the Gujarat Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council; OR
• Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) from an institution recognised by the Gujarat Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council.
• Basic knowledge of computer application as per the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
• Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
• Selected candidates must register with the Gujarat Nursing Council (under the Gujarat Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Act, 1968) at the time of appointment, if not already registered.

Age Limit

18 to 35 years as on 12/10/2026. Candidates already in Gujarat Government service may get upper age relaxation as per rules.

Salary

Rs 40,800 per month fixed pay for the first five years (Finance Department resolutions, latest dated 18/10/2023). After five years of satisfactory service, the candidate becomes eligible for regular appointment in the 7th Pay Commission scale of Rs 29,200 – 92,300 (Level-5), subject to the Supreme Court judgment in SLP No. 14124/2012 and 14125/2012.

Exam Pattern

• All questions are MCQs of 1 mark each. 1/4 mark is cut for every wrong answer.
• Minimum 40% marks needed in each paper. You must pass both papers.
• Merit list is based on the total marks of both papers.
• Nursing syllabus follows the Indian Nursing Council. The detailed syllabus will be on the GSSSB website.
• Widow candidates get 5% extra marks (if not remarried). Candidates with recognised sports achievements also get 5% extra marks.
