All remuneration is subject to deduction of tax at source and/or any other statutory deductions.
Eligibility Criteria
Selection is made in accordance with the National Medical Commission (NMC), Post-Graduate Medical Education Board, Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations, 2024, notified on 17 January 2025. Key qualification requirements (summarized) are:
- Professor: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject, with 3 years of experience as Associate Professor in a recognized medical institution (or equivalent Armed Forces experience), at least 2 research publications after becoming Associate Professor (among first three authors), Basic Course in Biomedical Research, and Basic Course in Medical Education where applicable. MBBS and Additional Qualification must be registered with the Telangana Medical Council.
- Associate Professor: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject, with 4 years’ experience as Assistant Professor (5 years if appointed directly), or equivalent Armed Forces experience, at least 2 research publications after becoming Assistant Professor, Basic Course in Biomedical Research, and Basic Course in Medical Education where applicable.
- Assistant Professor: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject, with 1 year as Senior Resident (or equivalent experience as Tutor/Demonstrator/non-teaching Consultant with prescribed years of experience in a 220+ bedded Government hospital, or equivalent Armed Forces experience).
- Tutor: MBBS, registered with the Telangana Medical Council.
- CAS Specialist (General Medicine): MD (General Medicine). CAS Specialist (Pulmonary Medicine): DM Pulmonary or MD (Chest Diseases)/DTCD.
- Non-Medical Faculty (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Microbiology): Master of Science with Doctor of Philosophy in the respective Medical subject.
Selection Criteria
- Tutor posts: Selection based on theory marks obtained in MBBS.
- Assistant Professor: Selection based on theory marks obtained in MD/MS/DNB/MDS/M.Sc. (Clinical Degree) postgraduate qualifications; where marks are not awarded, 50% of maximum marks is considered.
- Teaching experience in the respective cadre/post is considered as a selection criterion for all cadres.
- Rule of Reservation applies only where more than one vacancy is notified under a particular post/category.
- Candidates from all over India are eligible to apply, though preference is given to candidates belonging to Narayanpet District and the erstwhile Mahabubnagar District, subject to meeting all eligibility criteria.
- Additional weightage is given to candidates who have previously worked or are presently working at GMC & General Hospital, Narayanpet.
Age Limit: Below 69 years for Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor posts.

Terms & Conditions
- The contractual appointment is valid up to 31.03.2027, or until the vacancy is filled through regular appointment, whichever is earlier, and does not confer any right to regular appointment or future Government employment.
- Selected faculty are eligible for 15 days Casual Leave and 5 Optional Holidays per calendar year.
- The contract can be terminated by the institute with 1 month’s notice, without assigning any reason; a candidate wishing to resign must also give 1 month’s prior notice.
- Salary/Remuneration is payable strictly based on attendance recorded through the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS).
- Candidates already working in another Government Medical College in Telangana must produce a No Objection Certificate and Relieving Order at the time of joining.
- Selected candidates must submit an undertaking to render services during National Health Emergencies or other public health emergencies, whenever required.
- If a selected candidate wishes to resign or terminate the contract within the first 3 months of joining, no NOC, Relieving Letter, or Experience Certificate will be issued.
