Value of a Senior Residency at AIIMS Gorakhpur
For postgraduate medical degree holders, a Senior Residency at a premier institution like AIIMS Gorakhpur offers valuable clinical exposure across a wide range of specialties, from Anaesthesiology and General Medicine to specialized departments such as Radiotherapy and Trauma & Emergency. Since the Institute is a relatively newer AIIMS under PMSSY, this recruitment also gives Senior Residents an opportunity to be part of the institute’s early growth phase, working closely with the founding clinical faculty as departments continue to develop their infrastructure and specialty services in the eastern Uttar Pradesh healthcare landscape.
Restrictions on Private Practice and Whole-Time Service
Candidates selected as Senior Residents must note that this is a whole-time appointment with AIIMS Gorakhpur; the appointee shall not accept any other assignment, paid or otherwise, and shall not engage in private practice of any kind during the period of contract. Candidates are also expected to conform to the rules of conduct and discipline applicable to institute employees, and the competent authority reserves the right to assign any duty as required, without additional allowance for such assignments.
