About This Recruitment
Government Medical College, Nalgonda is conducting one of the largest single-institution contract recruitment drives in this batch, with 57 posts spanning Pre-clinical, Para-clinical and Clinical departments including Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Community Medicine, Paediatrics, Radiology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Emergency Medicine. This large-scale recruitment reflects the ongoing effort by Telangana’s Directorate of Medical Education to staff its expanding network of government medical colleges and hospitals with qualified faculty, offering substantial monthly remuneration – up to Rs. 1,50,000 for Associate Professor – on a contractual basis.
Why Candidates Must Act Within Days, Not Weeks
Since applications are accepted only between 05 and 10 September 2026, and the entire selection process – from application to final merit list – is compressed into less than a month, MD/MS/DNB and MBBS-qualified candidates interested in these positions must gather their required documents (SSC certificate, study certificates from 1st to 7th class, PG degree and marks memo, Telangana Medical Council registration, and category certificates if applicable) immediately, rather than waiting until closer to the deadline. Given that the application must be submitted in person at the College office rather than online, out-of-state candidates in particular should plan their travel and document preparation well in advance.
Understanding the OBG and Radiology Concentration
Candidates should note the particularly heavy concentration of Assistant Professor vacancies in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (8 posts) and Radiology (2 posts), reflecting likely patient-load pressures in these specialties across Telangana’s government hospital network. MD/MS-qualified OBG specialists with one year of Senior Residency experience represent the single largest opportunity within this recruitment, making this an especially significant notification for candidates in that specialty actively seeking contract faculty positions in Telangana.
What the Rigorous Selection Timeline Means for Candidates
The detailed, date-specific selection schedule – provisional list on 22 September, objection window on 23-24 September, and final merit list on 26 September, followed by certificate verification on 28 September – demonstrates that GMC Nalgonda intends to complete this entire recruitment cycle within roughly three weeks of the application deadline. Candidates should keep all these dates noted and be prepared to respond quickly at each stage, particularly the narrow 2-day objection window on the provisional merit list, since delays at any stage could affect a candidate’s final placement in the selection process.
About Government Medical College Nalgonda
Government Medical College, Nalgonda operates under the Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Telangana, serving the healthcare and medical education needs of Nalgonda district and surrounding areas. Contract-based faculty recruitment drives like this one are a common mechanism used by Telangana’s medical education department to quickly fill teaching vacancies across its network of government medical colleges, allowing colleges to maintain adequate faculty-to-student ratios required for medical council accreditation while permanent recruitment processes, which typically take much longer, proceed separately.
What Makes This Recruitment Significant for Telangana’s Medical Education Sector
With 57 vacancies spanning nearly every core pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical department, this GMC Nalgonda recruitment represents one of the larger single-institution medical faculty hiring drives in the state this year. The scale of vacancies, particularly in Assistant Professor roles across Paediatrics, Radiology, OBG and Emergency Medicine, points to significant capacity expansion needs at the college, likely tied to increasing student intake or expanding clinical service demands at the affiliated Government General Hospital.
