Department-wise Vacancy Highlights

Vacancies for Dental, Pathology, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Chest exist but no candidates are currently being sought in these departments as per this notice. The number of vacancies is provisional and may increase or decrease based on the institute’s actual requirement.

Pay and Allowances

Other Allowances include NPA, DA, HRA, TA and DA on TA. Salary of Non-medical faculty will not include NPA. The above pay structure is as per ESIC Headquarters guidelines, and revision of this pay is pending, so actual remuneration may increase.

Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification and experience must be as per the applicable National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines, as stipulated in the Gazette Notification dated 30 June 2025.
• Age Limit: Not exceeding 69 years for Teaching Faculty, and not exceeding 45 years for Senior Resident, as on the date of document verification and interview.
• Non-medical candidates with M.Sc. and PhD qualifications in Medical Anatomy, Medical Biochemistry, Medical Physiology, Medical Pharmacology or Medical Microbiology may also apply for Assistant Professor and beyond in these specialties.
• Ex-Servicemen from Defence, ESIC or Railway may also apply for faculty positions.
• Retired candidates from Central/State Government or PSU, from the equivalent posts, are eligible to apply. Persons working in recognized/approved private medical institutions fulfilling the eligibility criteria may also apply.

Terms of Contract

The initial contract period for Teaching Faculty will be 3 years, which may be extended by up to 2 more years on a yearly basis, subject to satisfactory performance. The maximum tenure of engagement will be 5 years, or attaining 70 years of age, or the joining of regular faculty, whichever is earlier. Doctors without teaching experience may also apply for Part Time or Full Time Specialist posts in Clinical subjects, and will be considered only if suitable teaching faculty candidates are not available.

How to Attend the Walk-in Interview

1. Download the Common Application Form for Walk-in-Interview from the notice, fill it completely in block letters, and paste a recent self-attested passport-size photograph.
2. Send the filled application, along with your MCI/SMC Number and contact number, by email to deanbeltolaguwahati@gmail.com. Outstation candidates can also send their self-attested dossiers by the same email.
3. Report at the Chamber of the Dean, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Beltola, Guwahati-781022, between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM on 15 September 2026 for document verification. Only candidates whose documents are verified will be allowed to attend the walk-in interview.

Important Terms and Conditions

• The recruitment is purely on a contractual basis, and selected candidates will have no claim for regularization of service.
