Nature of Contract Teaching Engagement

• Contract Teachers have no claim or right to continuity of service or automatic extension of their contract term.
• Engagement is for a minimum of 7 working days and a maximum of 200 working days, and can be discontinued at any time without prior notice or reason.
• The maximum teaching periods allotted per day should not exceed 5.
• Contract teachers must perform all academic-related jobs, including evaluation work, with no additional payment beyond the remuneration for taking periods.
• Contract teachers are not entitled to leave, medical, pass, PTO, transportation, or any other facility.
• Teachers are not entitled to vacation pay during autumn/winter breaks. Remuneration is monthly consolidated, and pro-rata deduction applies for absence on working days as: (Consolidated Monthly Remuneration × Number of Days Worked) ÷ 30.
• Contract teaching service will not count towards regular selection through the Railway Recruitment Board and will not form part of the cadre of railway teachers.
