Who Can Apply

Library science professionals with a Master’s (55%), a Ph.D. and at least ten years’ experience as a university or college librarian, or as a library science teacher, can apply. The post follows the UGC Regulations, 2018 and the Gujarat Public Universities Uniform Statutes-2024. Only SC/ST/SEBC/EWS candidates of Gujarat origin get reserved-category benefits.

Educational Qualification

• Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade.
• At least 10 years as a Librarian at any level in a University Library, or 10 years of teaching as Assistant/Associate Professor in Library Science, or 10 years as a College Librarian.
• Evidence of innovative library services, including integration of ICT in a library.
• Ph.D. in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation/Archives and Manuscript-keeping.
• 5% relaxation (55% to 50%) for differently-abled candidates, and for Ph.D. holders who obtained their Master’s before 19 September 1991.

Age Limit

The maximum age is 57 years, including all relaxations.

• Selection follows the UGC Regulations, 2018 and University rules.
• The University may shortlist by merit, an aptitude/written test or another method before the interview.
• Call letters are sent by email or shown on www.bknmu.edu.in. No TA is paid.
