Before filling the application form, check the eligibility, salary, age limit and selection process explained below.
This notification, Employment Notification No. 3/2026 dated 6 July 2026, covers senior administrative posts like Finance Officer and Deputy Registrar, along with clerical and support posts like Upper Division Clerk, Lower Division Clerk, Laboratory Assistant and Multi Tasking Staff. Since this notification covers 16 different posts across three job groups, candidates with a wide range of qualifications can apply.
Assam University Silchar Recruitment 2026 – Highlights
This table gives you a quick summary of the whole recruitment. Out of 31 posts, Multi Tasking Staff carries the highest share with 6 vacancies, followed by Laboratory Attendant with 5 posts. The remaining posts are spread across senior administrative roles, clerical posts and technical support positions.
Since this recruitment covers three separate job groups, from Group A officer-level posts to Group C support staff posts, the eligibility, pay and selection process differ significantly depending on which post you choose to apply for.
Who Can Apply
Candidates who are Indian nationals and meet the specific educational qualification, experience and age criteria for their chosen post can apply. Since some posts, like Internal Audit Officer, are open only on a deputation basis, candidates already working in Government service should check the mode of recruitment carefully before applying.
Candidates applying for more than one post must submit a separate application and pay a separate fee for each post. Reservation benefits under SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS and PwBD categories are available as per Government of India norms, and candidates must attach the relevant certificate to claim these benefits.

Each of the sixteen posts carries its own specific qualification requirement. Here is a simplified summary of the major posts.

A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1,000 applies for posts at Serial No. 1 to 7 (Group A), and Rs. 500 for posts at Serial No. 8 to 16 (Group B and C), payable online through the payment gateway for UR, EWS and OBC candidates.

Selected candidates also get standard Central Government-linked allowances applicable to Central University employees, along with coverage under the New Pension Scheme.
Selection Process
The selection process differs based on the Group of the post you apply for.

Selection is based on qualification, experience and a Written Test or Skill Test, which may cover Reasoning, Simple Arithmetic, General Knowledge, Domain Knowledge, Finance & Accounts, and Language Proficiency in English and Hindi, depending on the post.
- Group A Posts: The University follows its own discretionary procedure for these senior posts, based on qualification and experience as prescribed in the notification.
- Document Verification: Candidates must bring all original certificates related to age, qualification and experience at the time of the test or interview, wherever applicable.
Since mere submission of an application or meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee a call for the test, make sure every qualification and experience detail in your application is accurate and well supported by documents.
