APSSB CHSLE 2026: Apply for 207 Group ‘C’ Posts in Arunachal Pradesh
Looking for a government job this year? A new recruitment notification has been released by the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board. This recruitment offers 207 vacancies for various Group ‘C’ posts under the Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination 2026. Candidates who have passed Class XII can apply. Before filling the application form, check the eligibility, salary, age limit and selection process explained below.
This notification, Advertisement No. 05/26, covers nine different posts spread across departments like Agriculture, Land Management, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Secretariat Administration and more. Posts include Lower Division Clerk, Data Entry Operator, Stockman, Field Assistant and several others, all requiring a Class XII pass as the basic qualification.
APSSB CHSLE 2026 – Highlights
This table gives you a quick summary of the whole recruitment. Out of 207 posts, Stockman carries the highest share with 89 vacancies, followed by Lower Division Clerk with 56 posts spread across fourteen different departments and offices. This wide mix means candidates from science, arts and general academic backgrounds all have a genuine opportunity.
Since these are Group ‘C’ government posts under the Arunachal Pradesh Government, they offer strong long-term job security along with a defined pay matrix level and standard government allowances.
Who Can Apply
Candidates who are citizens of India and meet the age and educational qualification for their chosen post can apply. Since 9 different post codes are available, candidates should check their post carefully, since Class XII pass is common, but the required stream or additional certification differs by post.
Reservation is available for Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) candidates, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities and Ex-Servicemen, as per the vacancy break-up given in the official notification. Candidates must clearly select their preferred posts and departments while filling the online application, since this preference cannot be changed later.
Educational Qualification
Each of the nine post codes carries its own specific qualification requirement. Here is a simplified summary of the major posts.
- Agriculture Field Assistant (Jr): Class XII (Science) passed from a recognised Board.
- Data Entry Operator (DEO): Class XII passed, with a typing speed of 35 words per minute on computer and a minimum 6-month Diploma in Computer Application.
- Field Assistant: Class XII with Mathematics/Geography, or Class XII in any subject with a Survey course from a Government-recognised ITI.
- Fishery Demonstrator: Class XII (Science) with Biology as one of the subjects.
- Junior Secretariat Assistant: Class XII passed, with English typing speed of 35 words per minute and a 6-month Diploma in Computer Application.
- Laboratory Assistant: Class XII (Science) essential, with a Diploma in Laboratory Technology as a desirable qualification.
- Lower Division Clerk (LDC): Class XII pass, typing speed of 35 words per minute and a 6-month Diploma in Computer Application. LDC posts under the Sainik Welfare Board additionally require the candidate to be an Ex-serviceman with at least 10 years of service, preferably as a Clerk.
- Record Keeper/Record Clerk: Class XII pass along with a 1-year Diploma in Computer Application.
- Stockman: Class XII (Science) passed from a recognised Board or Institute.
Since the Diploma in Computer Application requirement applies specifically to Data Entry Operator, Junior Secretariat Assistant, Lower Division Clerk and Record Keeper/Record Clerk posts, make sure this certificate is recognised by the Arunachal Pradesh Council for Technical Education or AICTE before applying for these posts.
Age Limit
The age limit differs slightly by post. Most posts require candidates to be between 18 and 32 years, while Field Assistant, Fishery Demonstrator, Laboratory Assistant and Stockman allow candidates up to 35 years. Record Keeper/Record Clerk has a lower upper limit of 28 years, while LDC posts under the Sainik Welfare Board allow candidates up to 40 years.
Age relaxation of 5 years is available for APST candidates, and 10 years for PwBD candidates, which extends to 15 years for APST PwBD candidates. In-service departmental candidates with 3 years of continuous service get an additional 5-year relaxation. Ex-servicemen can deduct their military service period from their actual age, and are considered eligible if the resulting age does not exceed the maximum limit by more than 3 years.
Application Fee
APST candidates need to pay Rs. 150, while candidates from other categories need to pay Rs. 200. This fee is non-refundable and must be paid only through online mode.
Persons with Disabilities (PwD) are completely exempted from paying the application fee. Make sure your payment is completed successfully before the closing date, since incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Salary
The pay scale depends on the post’s assigned Pay Matrix Level. Field Assistant falls under Level-1, starting at Rs. 18,000. Fishery Demonstrator and Laboratory Assistant fall under Level-2, starting at Rs. 19,900. Most other posts, including LDC, Stockman, Data Entry Operator and Junior Secretariat Assistant, fall under Level-4, with pay ranging from Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100.
Apart from Basic Pay, selected candidates will also get standard government allowances applicable to Arunachal Pradesh Government employees, along with annual increments as per the pay matrix structure.
Selection Process
Selection for these posts is based on a two-stage process, though not every post requires both stages.
- Written Examination (Stage-I): Compulsory for all 9 posts. It consists of 200 objective type multiple choice questions across four sections, General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability, Arithmetical & Numerical Ability, and English Language & Comprehension, each carrying 50 marks, within a duration of 2 hours.
- Skill Test (Stage-II): Applicable only for Data Entry Operator, Junior Secretariat Assistant and Lower Division Clerk posts. This stage is qualifying in nature only and does not count towards the final merit.
A candidate must score a minimum of 33% aggregate marks in the written exam to be considered eligible for selection. There is no sectional cut-off and no negative marking, which means you can attempt every question without losing marks for a wrong answer.
Documents Required
Keep the following documents ready for uploading and for document verification after the written exam.
- Recent passport size photograph (2 copies)
- Matriculation certificate, for proof of date of birth
- Class XII pass certificate and mark sheet
- APST certificate, if applicable
- Permanent Resident Certificate, if applicable
- Diploma in Computer Application, if required for the post
- Intimation letter to Head of Department, for candidates already in regular Government service
- PwBD certificate, for candidates applying under the disability quota
- Discharge book and Pay & Pension Order, for Ex-servicemen candidates
- Admit card and printout of the online application form
Since shortlisted candidates must produce both original and photocopies of these documents on the day of verification, prepare everything well in advance to avoid your candidature being rejected for missing paperwork.
Important Dates
Candidates get about three weeks after the application opens to complete their form. Since the written exam date is already tentatively fixed, start your preparation early instead of waiting for the admit card.
