About This Recruitment
The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission is filling 155 Group-A and Group-B Gazetted Technical posts across five departments – Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, and Textiles & Handicrafts. With Veterinary Officer alone accounting for 66 of the 155 total posts, this recruitment represents a significant opportunity for Arunachal Pradesh’s indigenous, technically-qualified graduates in agriculture and allied sciences to enter gazetted government service.
Why the Eligibility Criteria Are So Restrictive
Since this recruitment is governed by a specific Government of Arunachal Pradesh notification requiring Permanent Residence, APST status and Indigenous Tribal Language proficiency, it reflects the state’s policy of reserving gazetted technical posts for its own indigenous population, given Arunachal Pradesh’s unique constitutional protections around land and tribal identity. Candidates should ensure they hold a valid, currently-issued APST Certificate and Permanent Resident Certificate from the competent authority well before applying, since these documents form the core of the eligibility verification process.
Understanding the Two-Stage Written Examination
Since the Commission may introduce a preliminary Recruitment Test (Objective Type) as a screening stage only when the number of applicants significantly exceeds the required ratio, candidates should prepare thoroughly for the full descriptive Written Examination regardless, since marks from any screening test are not carried forward to the final merit list. With General English and General Studies contributing 150 of the 500 total marks, alongside two full papers in the candidate’s technical subject, well-rounded preparation across both general aptitude and core subject knowledge is essential to clear the qualifying threshold for interview.
