About This Recruitment
AIIMS Patna is one of the newer All India Institutes of Medical Sciences, set up as an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Senior Resident posts at AIIMS are short-tenure clinical positions for doctors who already hold a postgraduate medical qualification, and they play an important role in patient care and training at the Institute while the regular recruitment process for permanent posts is completed. This particular round covers 16 departments, from Anaesthesiology and General Surgery to Radiodiagnosis and Transfusion Medicine, with a rolling interview schedule across four dates in September 2026.
Why the Interview is Held on a Rolling Basis
Instead of a single interview date, AIIMS Patna has scheduled four separate dates for this round: 5, 12, 19 and 26 September 2026. This rolling format lets the Institute fill Senior Resident posts department by department as vacancies are confirmed, and lets candidates plan which date suits their department and availability. Since the current status of vacant seats will be published on the website two days before each date, candidates should check this before deciding when to appear, especially if they are eligible for more than one department.
