About This Recruitment

This school in Aadwaal, Jagdalpur is a Government institution set up specifically for students with visual and hearing impairment, run under the District Bastar administration in Chhattisgarh. The recruitment was approved on the orders of the Collector (Social Welfare), Bastar district and the District Level Selection Committee, following the requirement of special-need teaching staff for the 2026-27 academic session, in line with the RPwD Act, 2016 and RCI Act, 1992. Since the posts are for teaching and training differently-abled students, most positions specifically require RCI registration, which confirms that the teacher has the recognized training needed to work with visually or hearing impaired students.

What RCI Registration Means for These Posts

The Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) is the statutory body that regulates training and standards for professionals working with persons with disabilities in India. For teaching posts at this school, candidates must ordinarily be registered with RCI to be considered fully eligible, since this confirms they have completed a recognized course in special education for the specific type of disability, visual or hearing impairment. For the Subject Expert posts, the notice does allow a relaxation: if RCI-registered candidates are not available, general B.Ed. or M.Ed. holders may also be considered, so eligible candidates without RCI registration should not assume they are automatically excluded from applying for these particular posts.

Why This Recruitment Matters for Bastar District

Special schools for visually and hearing impaired students are limited in number, and finding qualified special education teachers for a specific district like Bastar can be difficult. This recruitment fills 11 posts that directly affect how well the school can run its academic year for these students, from higher grade teaching down to vocational and music training. For candidates who have already completed their special education degree and RCI registration, this is a concrete, session-based opportunity to use that qualification in their own state.

Preparing a Complete Application

Since applications are accepted only by post or in person, and not online, candidates should prepare their full set of documents well before the 07 September 2026 deadline. This includes clear self-attested photocopies of mark sheets for Class 10th, 12th, Graduation, and the relevant B.Ed./D.Ed./M.Ed./PGDCA/Diploma certificate, along with caste certificate, residence certificate, and RCI registration certificate where applicable. Posting the application early, rather than close to the last date, helps avoid the risk of the envelope reaching the office after the 5:00 PM cut-off on 7 September, since late applications will not be considered under any circumstance.

What Each Post Involves

The Higher Grade Teacher and Subject Expert posts cover the core academic subjects for visually impaired students, using teaching methods suited to students who read and write in Braille or need audio-based learning support. The Integrated Teacher post at the Hearing Impaired section works with students who rely on sign language or lip-reading, blending regular subject teaching with communication support. The Computer Trainer introduces digital literacy adapted for hearing impaired students, while the Vocational Tailoring Trainer builds a practical skill that can support students after they finish school. The Part-time Music Teacher, though the lowest paid post here, plays an important role in the overall development of visually impaired students, for whom music education is often part of the curriculum.
