Who Can Apply

Candidates who already hold experience in an Executive position, working in a Central or State Government department, Public Sector Enterprise, Autonomous Organisation, Armed Forces or a reputed private company, can apply if their qualification and experience match the post. Only Indian Nationals are eligible for this recruitment.

Candidates must currently be employed in the next lower grade or an equivalent post as of the last date of application. Only external candidates can apply, since these vacancies are meant purely for Direct Recruitment from outside HAL.

Educational Qualification

The qualification requirement differs for the Finance and Design disciplines.

• Finance Officer & Deputy Manager (Finance): A Bachelor’s degree along with a pass in the final examination of CA or ICWA (Cost Accountant) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
• Manager (Design) – Mechanical: Degree in Mechanical, Mechanical & Industrial, Mechanical & Production, Mechatronics, or Mechanical & Automation Engineering, along with M.E./M.Tech in the same field.
• Manager (Design) – Electrical: Degree in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electrical & Instrumentation, Electrical Instrumentation and Control, or Electrical & Power Engineering, along with M.E./M.Tech in the same field.
• Manager (Design) – Electronics: Degree in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Tele Communications, Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design), Electronics and Control Systems, or related field, along with M.E./M.Tech in the same field.

For Manager (Design) posts, UR/OBC/EWS candidates need at least 70% aggregate marks in both their Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates need at least 60%. Degrees earned through correspondence, distance education, part-time or e-learning mode are not accepted. Only regular or full-time courses are considered valid.

Age Limit

The maximum age is 35 years for Finance Officer (Grade II), and 45 years for both Deputy Manager Finance (Grade III) and Manager Design (Grade IV), all counted as on 12 August 2026.

Age relaxation is available as follows: 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, and 10 years for PwBD candidates, which applies over and above any category relaxation. Candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between 1 January 1980 and 31 December 1989 get a 5-year relaxation, and Ex-servicemen and serving officers of the Armed Forces get relaxation as per company rules. After all relaxations, the final age must not exceed 55 years, or 56 years for PwBD candidates.

Application Fee

General, OBC and EWS candidates need to pay Rs. 500, which already includes 18% GST. This fee must be paid online through the SB Collect payment system while submitting the application.

Candidates from SC, ST and PwBD categories are completely exempted from paying this fee. The fee, once paid, is non-refundable under any circumstances, so candidates should double-check their eligibility before making the payment.

Salary

Finance Officer (Grade II) carries a pay scale of Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1,60,000. Deputy Manager Finance (Grade III) carries Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,80,000, and Manager Design (Grade IV) carries Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 2,00,000, all under the 2017 IDA pay scale structure.

Apart from Basic Pay, selected candidates also get Variable Dearness Allowance, Company Accommodation or House Rent Allowance, Provident Fund, Gratuity and Performance Related Pay. Perquisites and Allowances are currently paid at 35% of the running Basic Pay under the Cafeteria System, which adds significant value to the overall take-home package.

Selection Process

Selection for all these posts is based entirely on a Personal Interview, with no written examination.

1. Application Scrutiny: Applications are checked against the minimum eligibility criteria, including qualification, age, category and years of Post Professional Qualification Experience.
2. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted for interview in a maximum ratio of 1:10 based on relevant experience. In case of a tie, candidates with higher marks in their qualifying exam are preferred, followed by candidates who are older in age.
