About UCO Bank and This Recruitment

UCO Bank, headquartered in Kolkata, is a major public sector bank expanding its specialist cadre to strengthen its technology and cyber security capabilities amid the banking sector’s rapid adoption of AI-driven systems. The Manager-AI/ML Engineer role focuses on building and governing AI/ML models for banking applications, while the Manager-Cyber Security role is notably oriented toward offensive security – Red Teaming, AI Red Teaming, and penetration testing of systems that leverage Large Language Models – reflecting the emerging need for banks to proactively test the resilience of their AI-powered defense systems against sophisticated threats. Given the mandatory requirement of globally recognized certifications like OSCP, OSCE³ and GIAC for the Cyber Security role, and specialized AI/ML academic qualifications for the AI/ML Engineer role, this recruitment is aimed at experienced technology professionals with demonstrable, hands-on specialist expertise rather than general IT graduates.

Documents Required

Candidates should keep scanned copies of the following ready before applying online: recent photograph and signature as per the prescribed specifications, proof of identity and address, proof of date of birth, educational certificates and mark-sheets (with percentage or CGPA converted to percentage), caste/category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD, if applicable), disability certificate issued by a competent authority (for PwBD candidates), and experience certificates that explicitly state the candidate’s role, designation and duration of experience in the relevant specialist domain. Candidates seeking age relaxation as Ex-Servicemen must also be prepared to produce Service or Discharge Book details, pension payment order, and rank documentation at the time of interview.

Why This Recruitment Matters for Specialist IT Professionals

As Indian public sector banks accelerate adoption of AI-driven banking applications and simultaneously face growing cyber security threats targeting AI systems themselves, specialist roles like Manager-AI/ML Engineer and Manager-Cyber Security represent a distinct career track for technology professionals compared to traditional generalist IT officer positions in banking. The explicit focus on AI Red Teaming, adversarial AI testing, and security evaluation of Large Language Models within the Cyber Security role reflects an emerging and highly specialized skill area, while the AI/ML Engineer role’s emphasis on AI governance, model lifecycle management and Big Data technologies like Kafka and Spark signals the Bank’s investment in production-grade AI infrastructure rather than experimental proof-of-concept work. For candidates who already hold the mandatory certifications and have built genuine hands-on experience in these niche domains, this recruitment offers direct entry into a Middle Management Grade Scale-II specialist position at one of India’s established public sector banks.
