The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) has released Notification No. Rc.No.279/Rect./Rect-3/2026, dated 29 July 2026, for direct recruitment to the post of Assistant Sub Inspector, Fingerprint Bureau (ASI-FPB) in the Telangana Police Department. Who Can Apply

Candidates holding the requisite technical degree, meeting the age and physical standards specified below, may apply.

Age Limit (as on 1 July 2026)

Must have attained 21 years and must not have attained 25 years as on 1 July 2026. The Government of Telangana (GO Ms No.87, dated 18-05-2026) has raised the upper age limit by 5 years for uniformed services including Police, Fire Services, Prisons, and Special Protection Force Departments — this relaxation is in addition to the above limit.

Additional age relaxation: 5 years for Telangana Government employees (subject to max 5 years of regular service), 3 years for Ex-servicemen, 3 years for NCC Instructors, and 5 years for SC/ST/BC/EWS candidates.

Educational Qualification

Must possess a Degree of B.E./B.Tech in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Science with specialization in Artificial Intelligence/Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning/Data Science/Networks/Cyber Security/Internet of Things; OR a Degree of B.Sc. in Computer Science or Computer Application, awarded by a university established/incorporated by Central/State Act or recognized by UGC, as on 29 July 2026 (date of notification). Candidates with higher qualifications are also eligible.

Physical Standards

Eyesight: Distant and Near Vision 6/6 (Right & Left Eye) on Snellen scale, full field of vision in each eye. Colour blindness, squint, or morbid eye conditions are disqualifying.

Application Fee

Fee amount is determined dynamically on the TSLPRB online application portal based on category. A rebate of Rs.50-100 per additional post is available for candidates applying to multiple TSLPRB notifications within 3 months. Fee once paid is non-refundable.

Selection Process

Selection follows a multi-stage process: Preliminary Written Test (3-hour objective exam) → Physical Measurement Test/Physical Efficiency Test (for PWT-qualified candidates) → Final Written Examination (3-hour exam) → Certificate Verification.
