Who Can Apply

Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications under UGC Regulations, 2018 and the post-specific criteria below can apply online. OBC/EWS applicants for reserved posts must upload valid certificates (OBC from the Central List). Candidates in government service must produce vigilance clearance and NOC at interview.

Educational Qualification

• Professor (Social Work / Statistics): Eminent scholar with a Ph.D. in the discipline (Statistics includes Mathematical/Applied Statistics, Statistical Science, or Data Science with a strong statistical foundation), at least 10 research publications and a research score of 120 (UGC Regulations 2018, Appendix II Table 2), plus 10 years’ teaching/research experience with evidence of guiding doctoral candidates; OR an outstanding professional with a Ph.D. and 10 years’ experience.
• Associate Professor: Ph.D. in the relevant field (Social Work / Social Science / Economics, Geography, Environmental Science, Political Science, Development Studies etc.), Master’s with at least 55%, and 8 years’ teaching/research experience with at least 7 publications and a research score of 75.
• Assistant Professor: Master’s with at least 55% in the relevant subject, plus NET/SLET/SET or a Ph.D. under UGC 2009/2016 regulations (with the prescribed conditions); OR a Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked in the top 500 (QS/THE/ARWU).

Selection Process

• Screening of online applications by the Institute Screening Committee.
• If many candidates apply, shortlisting is based on academic score (which may be higher than the minimum).
• For Assistant Professor, the academic score (UGC Appendix II Table 3A) is used only for shortlisting; selection is based only on interview performance.
• Call letters are sent by email to shortlisted candidates only.
• Multi-stage document verification follows. No TA/DA for interview.
