Eligibility Criteria

1. Professor

Educational Qualification

For general disciplines and broad specialties:

• A medical qualification included in the I or II Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, subject to the applicable conditions under Section 13(3) of the Act.
• A postgraduate qualification such as MD/MS or a recognized equivalent qualification in the relevant discipline or subject.

For super-specialty disciplines:

• M.Ch. for surgical super-specialties or D.M. for medical super-specialties, of 3 years or 6 years of recognized duration, or an equivalent recognized qualification.

Experience

For general disciplines and broad specialties:

• 13 years of teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution after obtaining the qualifying MD/MS degree or equivalent.
• This must include at least 4 years as Assistant Professor and 3 years as Associate Professor.

For super-specialty disciplines:

• 10 years of teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution after obtaining the relevant D.M./M.Ch. degree or equivalent.
• This must include at least 4 years as Assistant Professor and 3 years as Associate Professor.

Age Limit: 60 years, extendable up to 66 years for retired government personnel applying for re-employment.

Salary: ₹3,05,000 per month (consolidated).

2. Associate Professor

Educational Qualification

For general disciplines and broad specialties:

• A medical qualification recognized under the applicable schedules of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
• A postgraduate qualification such as MD/MS or an equivalent recognized qualification in the relevant discipline or subject.

For super-specialty disciplines:

• M.Ch. for surgical super-specialties or D.M. for medical super-specialties, of 3 years or 6 years of recognized duration, or an equivalent qualification.

Experience

For general disciplines and broad specialties:

• 7 years of teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution after obtaining the qualifying MD/MS degree or equivalent.
• This must include at least 4 years as Assistant Professor.

For super-specialty disciplines:

• 4 years of teaching and/or research experience as Assistant Professor in a recognized institution after obtaining the relevant D.M./M.Ch. degree or equivalent.

Age Limit: 60 years, extendable up to 66 years for retired government personnel applying for re-employment.

Salary: ₹2,55,000 per month (consolidated).

3. Assistant Professor

Educational Qualification

For general disciplines and broad specialties:

• A medical qualification recognized under the applicable schedules of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
• A postgraduate qualification such as MD/MS or an equivalent recognized qualification in the relevant discipline or subject.

For super-specialty disciplines:

• M.Ch. for surgical super-specialties or D.M. for medical super-specialties, of 3 years or 6 years of recognized duration, or an equivalent recognized qualification.

Experience

For general disciplines and broad specialties:

• 3 years of teaching and/or research experience as Senior Resident, Demonstrator, Tutor, Lecturer or equivalent in a recognized institution after obtaining the qualifying MD/MS degree or equivalent.

For super-specialty disciplines:

• No experience is necessary for candidates possessing the specified 3-year or 6-year recognized D.M./M.Ch. degree or equivalent qualification.

Age Limit: 55 years, extendable up to 66 years for retired government personnel applying for re-employment.

Salary: ₹1,95,000 per month (consolidated).

4. Deputy Medical Superintendent (DMS)

Educational Qualification

• A recognized medical qualification included in or Part II of the relevant schedules of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
• MD (Hospital Administration)/MHA or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Medical Council of India.

Experience

• 9 years of experience in hospital administration in a government hospital with at least 200 beds.

Age Limit: 55 years.

Pay Scale: ₹15,600–₹39,100 with Grade Pay of ₹7,600 plus NPA, as stated in the notification.
