  1. Report to the Office of the Dean, College of Agriculture, OUAT, Bhubaneswar, at 10:00 AM on 24 or 25 September 2026 (as applicable to your subject, per the advertisement), latest by 10:30 AM.

  4. Submit a Demand Draft/Banker’s Cheque of Rs. 500, in favour of the Comptroller, OUAT, Bhubaneswar, before appearing for the interview.

Terms and Conditions

  • The engagement will be for the academic year 2026-27, and may be terminated at any time before the end of the academic year.
  • The incumbent has no claim for regular appointment under OUAT.
  • Guest Faculty may leave the assignment with one month’s notice, and will be relieved upon acceptance of resignation.
  • Empanelment remains valid for one year; the University reserves the right to increase/decrease positions or cancel the process without assigning any reason.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.

Why Extension Education Has the Most Openings

With 2 of the 10 total positions, Extension Education is the only subject offering more than a single position in this recruitment, reflecting OUAT’s relatively higher teaching load requirement in this discipline compared to the other 8 subjects, each of which has exactly 1 position.

Understanding the Rs. 60,000 Ceiling on Per-Class Remuneration

Since Guest Faculty are paid Rs. 1,200 per class subject to a maximum of Rs. 60,000 per month, candidates should understand that their actual monthly earning depends directly on the number of classes assigned, meaning a full teaching load of around 50 classes per month would be needed to reach the ceiling, making workload allocation a key factor in total compensation.

Why Research Publications Carry Weightage Despite Being “Desirable”

Although NET/M.Phil/Ph.D and research publications are listed only as desirable rather than essential qualifications, the notice explicitly states that research publication in peer-reviewed journals will be given due weightage in the selection process, meaning candidates with a strong publication record, even without a formal NET/Ph.D, may still gain a competitive edge over otherwise similarly qualified applicants.

About OUAT’s College of Agriculture

Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar, is one of India’s premier state agricultural universities. Its College of Agriculture regularly engages Guest Faculty to supplement its regular teaching staff across specialized agricultural science subjects, ensuring continuity of instruction for undergraduate and postgraduate agriculture students during the academic session.

Why Guest Faculty Roles Suit NET/Ph.D Aspirants Between Milestones

For M.Sc. Agriculture graduates awaiting NET results, currently pursuing a Ph.D., or between postdoctoral positions, a Guest Faculty assignment at OUAT offers a practical way to gain teaching experience and departmental exposure at a recognized agricultural university while continuing to build their research profile, making it a useful stepping stone toward a future regular faculty position in the state agricultural university system.

Choosing the Right Subject Given Your Specialization

Since OUAT is recruiting across nine distinct agricultural science specializations simultaneously, from Entomology and Soil Science to Extension Education and Seed Science & Technology, candidates with a Master’s degree spanning more than one closely related area should apply specifically under the subject heading matching their own M.Sc./Ph.D. specialization as recorded on their degree certificate, since eligibility will be verified strictly against the subject listed on official transcripts.

Final Word

Eligible Master’s degree holders in Entomology, Soil Science, Agril. Biotechnology, Agril. Statistics, Extension Education, Plant Breeding & Genetics, Nematology, Plant Physiology, or Seed Science & Technology should report for the walk-in interview at OUAT, Bhubaneswar, on 24 or 25 September 2026 at 10:00 AM, with all required documents and the Rs. 500 Demand Draft.
