About Odisha Grameen Bank

Odisha Grameen Bank, headquartered in Bhubaneswar, is one of the Regional Rural Banks participating in this year’s IBPS Common Recruitment Process, with candidates writing exams at centres across Balasore, Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Rourkela and Sambalpur. With 1055 total posts, largely concentrated in Office Assistant (600) and Officer Scale-I (375) categories, this is one of the larger state-wise vacancy allocations under CRP RRBs XV, reflecting Odisha Grameen Bank’s substantial branch network and staffing requirements across the state.

Why Odisha Grameen Bank Stands Out This Year

With 1055 combined vacancies, Odisha Grameen Bank’s allocation under CRP RRBs XV is among the higher state-wise numbers this recruitment cycle, making it a particularly attractive option for Odisha-based candidates fluent in Odia who wish to build a banking career close to home rather than risk provisional allotment to an RRB in another state. Candidates should note that while the Office Assistant and Officer Scale-I exams are common across all participating RRBs, expressing a preference for Odisha/Odisha Grameen Bank during registration, combined with strong performance in the Main Examination, improves the likelihood of provisional allotment specifically to this bank.

Preparing for the CRP RRBs XV Exam Cycle

Based on the tentative schedule released alongside this notification, Pre-Exam Training is expected in November 2026, the Online Preliminary Examination for Officers and Office Assistants in November/December 2026, followed by results in December 2026/January 2027, and the Main/Single Examination in December 2026/January 2027, with interviews for Officer posts tentatively in January/February 2027. Candidates should treat the roughly two-month gap between the application closing date and the preliminary examination as their primary preparation window, and regularly check www.ibps.in for confirmed dates and admit card releases rather than relying solely on this tentative schedule.

A Note on Provisional Allotment Within Odisha

Candidates should understand that clearing the exam does not automatically guarantee posting at Odisha Grameen Bank specifically for Officer Scale-II and III applicants, since provisional allotment for these scales is made to one of the participating RRBs nationally based on merit-cum-preference, while Office Assistant and Officer Scale-I candidates are allotted to the RRB of the State/UT they applied for. This distinction matters for candidates who specifically want to work within Odisha, making Office Assistant and Officer Scale-I the more state-anchored options within this common recruitment process.
