Who Can Apply
- Deputation: Eligible officials serving in Central/State Government, Autonomous Bodies, Statutory Authorities, PSUs, and Public Sector Banks – subject to the eligibility conditions in NIT Recruitment Rules 2019.
- Contractual: Any citizen of India meeting the qualification and age criteria in the Recruitment Rules 2019.
- Age Limit for Deputation: Not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of applications.
- Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates and Ex-servicemen applies as per Government of India guidelines.
Application Fee
SC/ST/Women/Divyaang candidates and those applying for deputation posts are exempted from the application fee. Candidates who had earlier applied against Advertisement No. 06/2024 (dated 11.03.2024) must apply afresh but are exempt from paying the fee again, provided they attach proof of their earlier fee payment.
How Selection Works
Selection is through a Written Test and a Trade Test, and a merit list is prepared based on marks from both:
- Written Test: Held in your relevant field of specialization/trade.
- Trade Test: Only the top “N” candidates from the Written Test are shortlisted, where N = number of posts x 6. Conducted in your relevant specialization/trade.
The shortlist for the Written Test/Trade Test will be published only on the Institute’s website – no separate communication will be sent, so keep checking www.nituk.ac.in.

- Pay the applicable application fee online.
