Eligibility
- ✓Indian citizen; full-time, non-transferable, temporary position tenable in India; valid for 1 year (no extension).
- ✓Ph.D. from a recognised university with first class in all preceding levels and a good academic record.
- ✓Ph.D. completed within the past 5 years on the last date of submission, and not from the host institution (NIT Silchar).
- ✓Age not more than 40 years on the date of submission.
- ✓Those in regular employment are not considered. Scientists/researchers in temporary positions may apply but must leave their present role if selected.
- ✓A suitable mentor/guide with a Ph.D. in Science or Engineering and a regular academic/research position must be identified by the Institute.
- ✓A research proposal with clear objectives, outcomes and deliverables is needed. Preference to candidates with industry linkages and industry-focused proposals.
- ✓Anyone who has already availed this fellowship is not eligible. Female PDF candidates may take up to 6 months maternity leave with fellowship (maximum 12 months of total fellowship).
