Cyber security experts have a special chance here. Cyber Security and Digital Forensics has 5 posts in one subject. Check the subject list carefully and pick the school that matches your degree.
Who Can Apply
This recruitment is open at three levels. Your qualification decides your post and your salary.
Ph.D. holders in the relevant subject can apply for Assistant Professor. Even candidates who have finished their Ph.D. viva but are waiting for the degree can apply. Master’s degree holders with UGC NET can apply for the lower remuneration Assistant Professor post. Master’s degree holders without NET can apply for the Lecturer post.
In every case, you need at least 60% marks or an equivalent grade in your qualifying degree. A consistently good academic record is expected throughout. Reservation will apply as per Government of India norms.
One point to understand clearly. The lower remuneration posts are filled when the university does not find suitable Ph.D. candidates for Assistant Professor in a subject. Also, if the panel finds you suitable for a lower post than the one you applied for, it may consider you for that lower post.
Educational Qualification
Here is the simple breakup of the three levels:
- Assistant Professor (₹90,000): Ph.D. in the concerned or allied subject, with minimum 60% in the preceding degree, plus at least two research papers in UGC-CARE, Web of Science or Scopus indexed journals.
- Assistant Professor – Lower Remuneration (₹75,000): Master’s degree with minimum 60% in the relevant subject, plus UGC NET or an equivalent qualification.
- Lecturer (₹68,000): Master’s degree with minimum 60% in the relevant subject. Preference goes to candidates pursuing a Ph.D.
Some posts have extra conditions. Pharmacy faculty must have Pharmacist registration under the Pharmacy Act. Clinical Psychology faculty must have RCI registration. For accounting posts, a Chartered Accountant qualification is treated as equal to a Master’s degree.
The exact degree names for each subject are listed in the official notification. Read your subject’s eligibility carefully before paying the fee.
Age Limit
The notification does not mention any age limit for these posts. This is common in contractual faculty hiring.
So candidates of any age can apply if they hold the required degrees. Your subject knowledge and academic record matter more than your age here.
Application Fee
The fee is ₹1,000 for every post you apply for. If you apply for two subjects, you must pay ₹2,000. This applies even when both subjects are in the same school.
Pay through UPI to the account given in the notification. Take a clear screenshot of the payment. Attach this screenshot with your application form. Your application stays incomplete until the accounts section confirms your payment.
One serious warning. Do not edit or fake the payment screenshot. The university has clearly said that forged or AI-edited proofs will lead to rejection and a ban from future recruitments.
Salary Details
The pay is a fixed consolidated amount every month. Ph.D. holders with the required publications get the full ₹90,000. This is an excellent package for a contract teaching role in India.
Even the Lecturer level pay of ₹68,000 is higher than what many private colleges offer. The clear qualification-based slabs also mean you know exactly what you will earn before you apply.
Selection Process
There is no written exam. The selection has two simple stages.
First, document verification. Your certificates, mark sheets and payment proof are checked at the venue. Second, a face-to-face interview before the selection panel. Each school has its own interview date between 27 July and 3 August 2026.
One helpful rule: if the panel finds you suitable but not for the post you applied for, you may be offered a lower post. So even Ph.D. candidates who narrowly miss the Assistant Professor bar may still get a Lecturer offer.
Documents Required
- Filled application through the Google Form
- UPI payment screenshot (JPEG format)
- All original certificates – educational, experience and age proof
- One set of self-attested photocopies of all documents
- Proof of two research publications (for the Assistant Professor post)
- NOC and approval from your institution head, if you are a full-time Ph.D. scholar
- Pharmacist registration or RCI registration, where the subject demands it
Arrange everything in a folder before the interview day. The photocopy set is submitted to the Recruitment Cell during the interview, so keep it separate from your originals.
Missing documents can make your application incomplete. Double-check the list one day before you travel.
Important Dates
Interviews are held at 10:00 AM in the Board Room for most subjects. Engineering, Police Science and Medico Legal interviews are at 12:00 PM in the VIP Lounge. All venues are inside the NFSU Gandhinagar campus.
Please note one special rule. Computer-related subjects of other schools are clubbed with the Cyber Security school. So Multimedia/Cyber Forensics (SFS), Digital Forensic/IT Auditing (SMS) and IT/Computer Applications/Data Science (Law School) interviews are all on 30 July 2026, not on their own school’s date. Check the schedule table in the official notification for your exact subject before travelling.
The notification gives no separate last date for the form. Interviews for the first group start on 27 July 2026. So submit your Google Form and fee well before your school’s interview date. Applying early is the safest path.

Why You Should Apply
NFSU is widely known as the world’s first university dedicated to forensic sciences. It is an Institution of National Importance. Teaching experience from such a university shines on any academic CV.
The salary is among the best for contract faculty in India. ₹90,000 per month for an Assistant Professor level contract is a strong offer. The direct interview process also means you can get selected within weeks, not months.
For research scholars, the environment is a bonus. NFSU runs advanced labs and works closely with police and justice systems. You get exposure that regular colleges cannot match.

- Read about NFSU, its schools and its courses from the official website
