NCERT DESM Recruitment 2026: The Department of Education in Science and Mathematics (DESM), NCERT, New Delhi, is holding a walk-in interview to engage a Senior Research Associate (SRA) or Junior Project Fellow (JPF) in Physics under a PAC-approved programme on developing syllabi, textbooks, and teaching-learning materials for Grades 9-12 in light of NCF-SE 2023. The interview is on 25 September 2026.

Who Can Apply

• SRA: Post Graduate Degree in Physics (or equivalent relevant discipline) with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST), plus 2 years of experience in Research/Teaching/Content development or any other relevant field. NET/PhD in the relevant discipline is desirable.
• JPF: Same PG qualification requirement, though freshers may also apply. Basic computer knowledge, proficiency in MS Office, and data processing/report preparation skills are desirable.
• Even freshers can appear for the SRA position – but SRA-eligible candidates (those with the required experience) get preference for SRA engagement over freshers.

Age Limit: Not more than 45 years for SRA, and 40 years for JPF (relaxation as per Government of India norms).

1. Show up at the Board Room, DESM, 1st Floor, Janaki Ammal Block (Science Building), NCERT, New Delhi – 110016, on 25 September 2026.
2. Register strictly between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM – candidates reporting after 9:30 AM will not be registered under any circumstance.
3. Bring a duly filled application form in the prescribed format, along with 1 recent photograph and a valid ID proof (Masked Aadhaar/PAN Card/Voters’ ID).
4. Carry your original certificates plus self-attested photocopies – DESM has no photocopying or printing facility on site, so bring your own copies in advance.
5. If you’re currently working with another organization, bring an NOC from your employer.
6. You may also bring copies of any written/published work you have, if relevant.

Terms You Should Know

• This is a purely temporary, contractual engagement, limited to the tenure specified (up to 31 March 2027).
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or for joining.
• Fresh PG-qualified candidates without SRA-level experience may still attend and be considered for the JPF post instead.
