How Selection Works

• Computer Based Test (Objective): 75 marks
• Classroom Lecture Trial: 25 marks

A minimum of 60% is required to qualify. As per RBE 194/2019, a negative marking of 1/3 mark applies for each wrong answer in the objective test. The prescribed syllabus for the selection is attached with the official notification.

Service Conditions After Selection

• Posting at ZRTI Muzaffarpur will be on a tenure basis for a maximum of 5 years, as per RBE 104/2023. The administration retains the right to revert the employee to their parent unit at any time if performance is found unsatisfactory.
• Selected instructors will be paid a 12% Teaching Allowance on their Basic Pay, as per Railway Board letter No. E(MPP)2012/3/28 dated 06.10.2017.
• The employee’s lien continues to remain with their parent post, department, division, and railway – this is a temporary tenure posting, not a permanent transfer.
• An instructor who has previously left an Instructor post at a training centre can reapply only after completing 1 year from the date they left that post.
• The cut-off date for calculating age and service period will be the date this notification is issued.

2. Your department will forward the application, along with a covering letter, to the Personnel Department.
3. The Personnel Department will verify your service details and forward your application through e-office to the concerned office.
4. Applications must reach the Personnel Department by the prescribed date – 15 October 2026. Applications received after this date will not be considered.
5. If a division or office has no eligible applicants, that fact must also be reported by that office.
