Why This Is an Urgent, High-Value Opportunity

With 331 vacancies — one of the largest single recruitment drives for Ladakh Police in recent memory — this notification offers a significant employment opportunity for the region’s youth. However, with the application deadline set for just 15 September 2026, candidates must act immediately, since the notification was published only on 24 August 2026 and the window is unusually short compared to typical central or state police recruitment cycles.

Understanding the Border and Women Battalion Structure

The domicile-restricted Border Battalion category (168 posts) specifically targets residents of Ladakh’s border villages, recognizing their unique geographic and security familiarity, while the Women Battalion (22 posts) creates a dedicated cadre for female candidates across multiple Ladakh districts. Candidates should carefully verify their domicile district eligibility before applying to either of these two categories, since applications outside one’s own domicile district are not permitted.

About Ladakh Police

Ladakh Police, functioning under the Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh, is responsible for law and order, border security coordination, and disaster response across the high-altitude, strategically significant Ladakh region. This recruitment substantially strengthens its General Cadre Constable workforce across executive, armed, border, and women’s battalion functions.

Final Word

This Ladakh Police Constable recruitment offers 331 posts across multiple cadre categories, but with an extremely tight application deadline of 15 September 2026.
