Why You Should Apply for This Post

Punjab National Bank is one of India’s largest public sector banks, and the Local Bank Officer post offers a stable, well-structured career in the Officer cadre with JMGS-I pay scale, standard PSU banking perks, and a defined path for promotion. Since the LBO post is state/region-specific, it is an excellent opportunity for candidates who wish to build a banking career close to their home state while enjoying Central PSU-level compensation and benefits.

Preparation Tips

Given the sectional time limits and negative marking in the written test, candidates should practice timed mock tests for Reasoning, Data Analysis, Quantitative Aptitude, English, and General/Banking Awareness separately. Since local language proficiency plays a critical role for this state-specific recruitment, candidates who did not study their state’s local language at 10th/12th level should begin preparing early for the Local Language Proficiency Test.
