Who Can Apply

Domicile

Candidates must be Domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and must possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Competent Authority, on the prescribed format, on or before the cut-off date (9 October 2026).

Educational Qualification

Qualification requirements vary by post and are listed in detail in Annexure-A of the official notification. Broadly, qualifications range from Matriculation with relevant training certificates (for posts like Senior Canning Attendant) to Graduation in Science (for posts like Health Educator and Junior Laboratory Assistant), with several paramedical posts requiring 10+2 with a specific diploma (Pharmacy, Sanitation and Public Health, etc.).

Selection Process

The examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions, set in English only, with negative marking of one-fourth mark for each wrong answer. Date and venue of the examination will be notified separately on the JKSSB website. Candidates shortlisted based on the written/OMR examination will be called for Document Verification (DV), where they must produce original documents (educational qualification, domicile, category certificates, etc.) that are legally valid on or before the cut-off date.

Horizontal Reservation

Horizontal reservation is applicable for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), to the extent communicated by the respective Indenting Department. Horizontal reservation for Ex-Servicemen applies to posts carrying pay up to Level-6E (Rs. 35,900-1,13,500).

• Category certificate (SC/ST-1/ST-2/OBC/EWS/RBA/ALC-IB), in the prescribed format, valid as on cut-off date
• Ex-Servicemen certificate in Form-XIV, if applicable

• Two recent passport-size colour photographs (not older than 6 months)
