IRCTC West Zone Apprentice 2026 – Overview
Post-wise Seats and Eligibility
All candidates must have passed Matriculation with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognised board. Qualification and age are counted on 30-Sep-2026.
Reservation
Government guidelines for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EWS/Ex-Servicemen candidates are followed with age relaxation. Ex-Servicemen, children of deceased/disabled Ex-Servicemen, children of Ex-Servicemen, children of serving jawans and children of serving officers are engaged in the order listed in the notice.
Selection Process
- ✓Merit list is made on the percentage of marks in Matriculation. For grades, the average of the highest and lowest marks is taken.
- ✓Tie: older candidate first; then the one who passed Matriculation earlier.
- ✓No written test or viva.
- ✓Offers are issued strictly in merit order; stand-by list candidates are called only when others do not join.
- ✓Shortlisted candidates must report for document verification at short notice with originals.
Application Fee

- ✓10th mark sheet, and ITI mark sheets/National Trade Certificate (for COPA)
- ✓Graduation degree and mark sheet (for graduate posts)
- ✓Proof of date of birth, caste certificate, disability certificate, EWS certificate or discharge certificate, as applicable
- ✓A colour photograph (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) taken within 3 months
- ✓Details of your registration on https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in
Your name, father’s name and date of birth must exactly match your Matriculation certificate.

- 2Submit the online application between 30.09.2026 and 18.10.2026. The notice does not print the exact application link, so check www.irctc.com for the link.
- 3Scan and upload the documents listed above.
- 4If shortlisted, carry originals and 2 self-attested photocopies for verification.
