Application Fee

The fee is Rs 100, and it’s fully waived for all female applicants, SC/ST candidates, PwBD candidates, and Transwomen applicants. Payment can be made via Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI, and it’s non-refundable. Make sure you complete the payment within 10 minutes of starting it, and definitely before 5:00 PM on the closing date – transactions started after that won’t go through.

How Selection Works

This is one of the simplest government selection processes around – there’s no written exam and no interview. Merit is decided purely on your 10th standard marks, so your school-leaving certificate marksheet is effectively your entire “exam.” That also means you don’t need to upload any documents at the application stage except your photo and signature – everything else gets verified later, at the time of document verification for shortlisted candidates.

Important Rules to Remember

  • Multiple or duplicate registrations are strictly prohibited – if caught, your registration can be cancelled and action taken under the GDS (Conduct and Engagement) Rules, 2020.
  • Complete your OTR today if you haven’t already – without it, you cannot proceed to the application stage at all.
  • Even after applying, you get a correction window from 23 to 24 September 2026 to fix any mistakes in your submitted application, including fee payment corrections.

How to Apply

  1. If you don’t already have a GDS OTR, complete your One-Time Registration today, 19 September 2026, before 5:00 PM.
  2. Log in with your registered OTR details and fill out the online application form, choosing your preferred circle(s) and post(s).
  3. Upload your photo and signature as specified – no other document upload is needed at this stage.
  4. Pay the application fee (if applicable to your category) via Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI, making sure to complete it within 10 minutes and before the 21 September 2026, 5:00 PM deadline.
  5. Use the correction window (23-24 September 2026) if you spot any error in your submitted form after submission.

Why This Recruitment Matters

With over 23,000 vacancies in a single cycle, this is one of the largest government recruitment drives currently open in India, and its no-exam, marks-based selection makes it especially accessible for candidates who may not have the resources for long exam preparation. For many rural and semi-urban candidates, a GDS engagement is also a stepping stone into the broader Department of Posts system.
