Eligibility: Qualification and Age Limit

Qualification and experience

• Graduation from a recognised university.
• 3 years as a Steno-typist, Judgment Writer or Stenographer in a government office or reputed organisation.
• English shorthand at 100 WPM, with transcription in five times the dictation time.
• English typing at 50 WPM on a computer.

Age limit (on 1 January 2026)

• UR and EWS: 18 to 45 years.
• HP Government employees: 18 to 50 years.
• Reserved categories and PwBD of HP get 5 years relaxation, where a post is reserved for them.

Salary Details

Selection Process

1. Competitive exam as per Schedule IV (Part H) of the R&P Rules, 2015.
2. Shorthand test at 100 WPM and typing test at 50 WPM.
3. Candidates with more than 10% mistakes are declared unqualified.
4. Document verification of qualified candidates.

• Matriculation certificate as age proof.
• ID proof such as Aadhaar, driving licence or passport.
• Graduation and higher qualification certificates.
• Experience certificate.
• Photo (20 to 50 KB) and signature (10 to 20 KB).
