Why the NMC’s 2025 TEQ Regulations Matter

Since eligibility for every teaching post in this recruitment is governed by the National Medical Commission’s Teaching Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations, 2025, candidates should carefully verify which specific pathway, standard experience route, Armed Forces equivalence, Senior Consultant route, or non-teaching Consultant route, applies to their own career background, since the regulations provide several alternate routes to eligibility beyond the standard experience-based criteria. Candidates whose experience comes from a non-teaching consultant role in a large government hospital, for instance, may still qualify under the specific provisions built into these 2025 regulations even without formal teaching experience.

Understanding the Contract Structure and Financial Commitment

Candidates should note that this is explicitly a temporary, contract-basis engagement lasting only until 31.03.2027 or until regular recruitment fills these posts, whichever comes first, and does not create any entitlement to future permanent government appointment. The requirement to execute a notarized bond, with a 3-month salary penalty for breaking it, coupled with the mandatory 1-month notice period for voluntary termination, means candidates should carefully weigh their commitment before accepting a position, particularly if they may need to exit the contract early for other opportunities.

Preparing for the Walk-in Interview

Given the compressed timeline, notification issued 03 September 2026 and interview just 12 days later on 15 September 2026, candidates should immediately begin assembling their original certificates and two sets of self-attested photocopies, particularly ensuring their Telangana Medical Council registration for additional PG qualifications is already in place, since applications without this specific registration will be rejected outright. Outside-state candidates should also start the Telangana State Medical Council registration process as early as possible, understanding they have only one week post-selection to complete it for their appointment to be confirmed.

Final Word

Eligible MBBS/MD/MS/DNB-qualified candidates meeting the specific experience and registration criteria for their target post should download the application form from www.gmcmbnr-ts.org and attend the walk-in interview on 15 September 2026 with all original and photocopied documents ready.

A Note on the Custody of Original Certificates

Candidates should be aware that upon joining, key original certificates, including MBBS and MD/MS/DNB Degrees along with their registrations, Senior Residency Certificate, BCBR Certificate, MET Certificate, Experience Certificate, and the relieving order from the previous institute, will remain under the custody of the Director, GMC, Mahabubnagar for the duration of the contract. Candidates should plan accordingly and retain properly certified duplicate copies of these documents for their own personal records before submission, since these originals will not be readily accessible while the contract is active.
