Category-wise Vacancy Details

Job specification: assembly, maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical/electronic components of Large Calibre Guns; reading and understanding technical and maintenance documents of guns; handling gun issues during and after firing; and other related work. GCF may increase or decrease the vacancies.

Who Can Apply

Indian citizens with the technical qualification and 2 years of experience below, aged 18 to 35, can apply. The contract worker must be able to give output within 10 days of joining.

Educational Qualification and Experience

• NTC/NAC or Engineering Diploma/Degree in the relevant trade/field from a Government-affiliated institute.
• At least 2 years of experience in the relevant work area in a reputed company, with an experience certificate from the employer.
• A brief description of the industry, work done, machines used, jobs made, programming knowledge (if any) and tool selection experience must be submitted.
• Apprenticeship training of one year or more with NAC (ITI-qualified, Schedule-1 of Apprenticeship Rules, 1992) may count as 1 year of experience. For school pass-out (fresher) apprentices, it counts only as training, not experience.

Salary and Benefits

• Consolidated Rs 31,840 per month (Basic Rs 19,900 + DA @ 60%).
• 3% annual increase on basic pay on satisfactory performance; half-yearly performance review.
• EPF as per law; covered under the Employees’ Compensation Act, 1923.
• Company quarters on rent (if available) or HRA as per AWEIL policy.
• 12 days paid leave per year (not carried forward or encashed); company holidays as for regular employees.
• Maternity benefits for women as per the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961.
• No promotion, OT, loans, medical facilities, LTC or other benefits of regular workmen.
• Working hours: typically 8 hours a day, 6 days a week (48 hours).

Selection Process

• Selection based on marks of the essential technical qualification and a Trade Test/Interview, with 50:50 weightage.
• Minimum 40% marks needed in each of the Practical/Trade Test and Written Test/Interview (5% relaxation for SC/ST).
• Shortlisting may be done if many applications are received.
• Candidates who do not submit the self-declaration on experience will not be called.
• Medical fitness test before joining. Police verification (PVR) within 3 months of joining.
