About This Recruitment
The District Programme Officer, Hamirpur is filling 80 Anganwadi Karyakatri posts across 8 Child Development Projects, with the Maudaha project alone accounting for 19 of the total vacancies. As the primary frontline worker responsible for supplementary nutrition, pre-school education and health referral services at each Anganwadi Centre, this recruitment offers local women across Hamirpur district a meaningful opportunity to serve their own communities through the ICDS programme.
Why Eligibility Is Tied to a Specific Ward or Gram Sabha
Since an Anganwadi Karyakatri runs the day-to-day operations of a centre serving her own neighborhood – from cooking and distributing nutrition to conducting pre-school activities and coordinating with health workers – this recruitment strictly limits eligibility to women already residing in the same Ward or Gram Sabha as the vacant post, extending only to the wider Nyaya Panchayat if no eligible local candidate exists. This hyper-local eligibility requirement ensures the selected worker already has established trust and familiarity within the community she will serve.
Understanding the Priority-Based Merit System
Rather than a purely marks-based selection, this recruitment applies a structured priority order that strongly favors widowed, separated or deserted women from Below Poverty Line families first, before moving to progressively less vulnerable categories of applicants within the same Ward/Gram Sabha. Candidates who fall into one of these priority categories should ensure they have the correct supporting certificate – a widow certificate and family register copy from the Gram Panchayat Officer or Municipal Body, or a court order for separated/deserted status – uploaded correctly with their online application.
What an Anganwadi Karyakatri’s Role Involves
Unlike an Anganwadi Sahayika (Helper), who assists mainly with cooking and cleaning, the Anganwadi Karyakatri is the lead functionary at each centre, responsible for supplementary nutrition delivery, pre-school non-formal education for children aged 3 to 6, growth monitoring, health check-ups and referral coordination with ANMs and ASHA workers, along with maintaining the centre’s records. Candidates applying for this Hamirpur recruitment should understand that this is a more responsibility-heavy role than the Sahayika post, and the somewhat higher honorarium reflects that added scope of work.
Timing Your Application Correctly
Since income and residence certificates required for this application must be freshly issued at the Tehsil level with online verification capability, and the caste certificate (where applicable) must carry a valid online digital signature, candidates should begin gathering these documents as early as possible rather than waiting close to the 16 September 2026 deadline. Given that incorrect or fudged information leads to outright rejection with the applicant held fully responsible, careful cross-checking of every uploaded document against the online application entries is strongly advised before final submission.
