Reservation across all posts follows the University’s roster for UR, Khasi & Jaintia, Garo, and OST/SC categories.
Pay Scale
DA and other allowances are payable as per Government of Meghalaya rates.
Who Can Apply
- Assistant Professor: Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC Non-Creamy Layer) in the concerned subject, plus NET/CSIR-NET/SET-NE qualification. Ph.D. holders (as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
- Associate Professor: Ph.D. in the concerned subject, Master’s degree with 55% marks, minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience equivalent to Assistant Professor, and at least 7 publications with a Research Score of 75 (as per UGC Regulations 2018, Appendix II Table 2).
- Professor: An eminent scholar with a Ph.D., minimum 10 publications with a Research Score of 120, and 10 years of teaching/equivalent research experience – or an outstanding professional with a Ph.D. and significant contribution to knowledge.

Selection Process
Selection involves shortlisting (academic score for Assistant Professor; eligibility, Research Score, and publication evaluation for Associate Professor/Professor), followed by a Personal Interview. Candidates are called for interview in the ratio of 1:3 for Assistant Professor and 1:5 for Associate Professor and Professor, relative to vacancies. Final selection is based entirely on interview performance.
