About This Recruitment

The Anganwadi system in Maharashtra operates under the Centrally Sponsored Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme, delivering nutrition, pre-school education and health services to children aged 0 to 6 years at the neighbourhood level. Since Anganwadi Sevikas and Madatnis work directly within their own community, the Maharashtra Government’s recruitment rules for these posts require candidates to be local residents of the specific jurisdiction area, ensuring familiarity with the local community and, where relevant, the local language spoken by beneficiary families, such as the Urdu-speaking population in parts of Badnera and nearby localities in Amravati.

Why Some Posts Are Reserved by Language

Since Anganwadi centres serve very specific, small neighbourhood populations, the government designates some posts as Urdu-speaking and others as Marathi-speaking, based on the predominant language spoken by families in that particular Anganwadi’s catchment area. This ensures that an Anganwadi Sevika or Madatnis can communicate effectively with the children and parents she serves daily, which is especially important for early childhood education and health outreach work carried out largely through spoken interaction with young children and their caregivers.

Documents to Keep Ready

Since this is a paper application submitted in person, candidates should assemble all self-attested documents before visiting the office, including their birth or school-leaving certificate for age proof, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, any higher qualification certificates, residency proof dated before the advertisement, small family declaration, and category certificate if claiming reservation. Widow or orphan candidates additionally need a competent authority certificate along with a death certificate of the spouse or a self-declaration, as applicable, since these documents directly affect the extra marks awarded during selection.
