Vacancies indicated are tentative and may increase or decrease at the discretion of the Management and/or in compliance with Presidential Directives on reservation.

Eligibility Criteria

• Diploma must be through a full-time regular course approved by AICTE. Part-time, correspondence, or distance-learning Diplomas make a candidate ineligible.
• Minimum Marks: 60% aggregate for GEN, EWS & OBC (NCL) candidates; 50% aggregate for SC/ST/PwBD candidates against reserved vacancies.
• Minimum one year of relevant post-qualification work experience OR one year of post-qualification apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961, in a Refining/Petroleum/Power/Lube/Petrochemical/Fertilizer Industry of repute (for Mechanical/Electrical disciplines, Engineering Industry of repute is also considered).
• Date of reckoning for minimum post-qualification experience: 01 July 2026.
• Candidates with higher qualifications such as A.M.I.E., B.E., B.Tech, or similar professional degrees are not eligible.
• Diplomas in unrelated disciplines (e.g., Petrochemical, Plastic & Polymer for Post Code A&B; Mechanical Production/Automobile for Post Code C; Electronics Engineering for Post Code D) are not accepted as equivalent.

All finally selected candidates (post pre-employment medical examination) will be placed in the entry level of NG-2 grade, at a starting minimum basic pay of Rs.26,500, in the pay scale of Rs.26,500-34,000. Besides Basic Pay and Industrial pattern Dearness Allowance (DA), other allowances/benefits are applicable as per Corporation rules. Candidates joining through Proper Channel from other CPSUs/PSUs/Govt. bodies get pay protection, capped at the NG-2 grade maximum of Rs.34,000.

Selection Process

Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)

• 100 objective-type questions, 1 mark each, 120 minutes duration.
• Domain Knowledge: 60 marks
• General Aptitude (English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness & Current Affairs): 40 marks
• Conducted in English only; no negative marking for wrong answers.

Stage 2: Skill/Proficiency Test (SPT)

Candidates qualifying the CBT as per the cut-off marks decided by the Corporation are called for SPT at the respective refinery locations. SPT is of a qualifying nature; only candidates who qualify are considered for further selection.

Stage 3: Pre-Employment Medical Examination

Final appointment is subject to candidates meeting BPCL’s Medical Fitness norms and standards. Candidature remains provisional until appointment.

Important Instructions

• Placement is initially at Mumbai or Kochi Refinery, but BPCL reserves the right to post or transfer selected candidates to any other existing or future Refinery/Marketing location, office, or project.
• All other selection parameters being equal, preference will be given to erstwhile Kochi Refinery Project Evictees for Post Codes B, C, and D.
• SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD/EWS candidates applying against unreserved posts are considered against general standards, with no relaxation in age or qualification cut-offs.
• Candidates employed in Govt./PSU/Autonomous Bodies must submit a No Objection Certificate at the time of SPT (if shortlisted).
• SC/ST/PwBD candidates appearing for CBT/SPT are reimbursed single second-class sleeper rail fare from the nearest railway station, for a distance of 30 km or more, on production of ticket.
• Selected candidates must join within 30 days of the offer; BPCL may reject/rescind the offer if this is not honoured.
• Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay (Post Code A) or the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala (Post Codes B, C, D combined).
