About Atal Behari College, Basudevpur

Atal Behari College, located in Basudevpur, District Bhadrak, Odisha, is a Non-Government Aided College offering undergraduate and postgraduate education across a range of arts and science subjects. Like many aided colleges in the state, it relies on the Government of Odisha’s retired Guest Faculty scheme to fill teaching gaps and ensure continuity of instruction across subjects such as English, Political Science, History and the sciences, until vacant posts are filled through regular recruitment channels.

Why the Objective Evaluation System Matters

Since retired teachers applying for a given subject may often exceed the number of vacant posts, the objective, marks-based evaluation system set out in Annexure-A is what actually decides who gets engaged when a subject like Political Science or English draws a large pool of applicants against just a handful of posts. Candidates should note that this scoring rewards not just the highest qualification but also sustained academic strength across every stage of education, from the 10th standard result onward, as well as post-retirement research output. A retired teacher who has continued to publish research papers or has extensive UG/PG teaching experience therefore stands to gain a meaningful edge over one who relies on qualification alone, since both experience and publications carry up to 10 marks each toward the 60-mark total.
