About This Recruitment
This specialized “Expert (Tea Plantation)” engagement reflects AYCL’s approach of drawing on the deep, decades-long domain expertise of retired senior tea industry executives and government officials to provide strategic advisory support across its fifteen tea gardens in West Bengal and Assam. Given the stringent eligibility bar requiring 22 years of post-qualification experience, including at least 10 years in a senior leadership role for private-sector candidates, this opportunity is squarely targeted at retired General Managers, Vice Presidents, Directors, or equivalent senior tea plantation professionals rather than early or mid-career candidates. The purely advisory nature of the role, combined with a per-diem remuneration structure capped at 15 days a month, makes this a genuinely part-time, consultancy-style engagement well suited to retired professionals seeking to remain professionally active in the tea industry without taking on full-time executive responsibilities.
Understanding the Advisory Expert Model
The “advisory expert” or “consultant” engagement model used by AYCL for this recruitment is increasingly common among Indian public sector enterprises seeking to tap the accumulated institutional knowledge of retired senior professionals without the cost or long-term commitment of a full-time executive appointment. Since tea plantation management involves highly specialized, decades-refined domain knowledge spanning agronomy, sustainability compliance, and estate-level operational strategy, a per-diem advisory role allows AYCL’s fifteen tea gardens to draw on this expertise flexibly, on an as-needed basis, while the retired expert retains the freedom of a part-time, non-executive engagement. This structure benefits both parties: AYCL gains access to proven, high-level plantation management guidance without the overheads of a permanent senior executive position, while the expert enjoys renewed professional engagement, a defined remuneration structure capped at 15 working days per month, and clear boundaries around their advisory-only mandate that avoid the administrative and disciplinary responsibilities of a regular Company executive role.
