Why This Recruitment Moves So Fast

The extremely compressed timeline of this recruitment, application by 10 September and walk-in interview the following morning on 11 September, is characteristic of internationally funded research projects that operate on externally set grant milestones and require rapid staffing to meet project deadlines. Candidates who are seriously interested and already meet the eligibility criteria should not wait to gather every last document before applying; instead, they should submit their application and required certificates as soon as possible through both the email address and the Google form, since both submission channels are mandatory.

Understanding the Three Distinct Roles

While two of the three posts share the “Project Technical Support-III” designation, one focuses on Biological Sciences and the other specifically on Psychology, meaning candidates should apply for the role that matches their actual academic specialization rather than assuming either post is interchangeable. The Project Nurse-II post, requiring a B.Sc. Nursing degree recognized by the Nursing Council of India, is distinct from the two PTS-III roles and is likely to involve direct participant interaction, sample or data collection support within the clinical research setting of this genetics study.

Preparing for the Walk-in Interview on Extremely Short Notice

Given that the walk-in interview falls just one day after the application deadline, candidates should prepare their original certificates, degree documents, and experience letters for verification well in advance, rather than waiting until after submitting their application. Since the notice explicitly states that candidates may also be required to appear for an MCQ-based written examination if the Selection Committee so decides, applicants should be mentally prepared for a same-day combination of document verification, a possible written test, and an interview, all within the narrow window of 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM entry on 11 September 2026.

Final Word

Eligible candidates for Project Technical Support-III (Biological Sciences or Psychologist) or Project Nurse-II under the A-BIG-NET project at AIIMS Kalyani should submit their application by email and via the Google form before 5:00 PM on 10 September 2026, and be present at Psychiatry IPD, DHANVANTARI building, AIIMS Kalyani, by 8:00 AM on 11 September 2026 for the walk-in interview.

A Note on Communication After Applying

Since AIIMS Kalyani has stated that no individual intimation will be sent to applicants in any form other than email, and that all information regarding this recruitment will also be displayed on the AIIMS Kalyani website (https://aiimskalyani.edu.in/), candidates should check both their email and the institute website regularly in the short period between submitting their application and the walk-in interview date.

Why Bipolar Genetics Research Matters

Bipolar disorder is a complex psychiatric condition with a strong genetic component, and research consortia like A-BIG-NET aim to map the genetic variants associated with the disorder specifically within Asian populations, which have historically been underrepresented in large-scale psychiatric genetics studies compared to European and North American cohorts. By contributing genetic and clinical data from Indian patients through AIIMS Kalyani’s Department of Psychiatry, this project helps build a more globally representative understanding of bipolar disorder’s genetic architecture, with potential long-term implications for diagnosis, risk prediction, and treatment approaches tailored to Asian populations.
