- CGPA shall be converted into percentage as per the norms of the concerned Educational Board/University.
Terms and Conditions

Tips for Candidates Applying to This Apprenticeship
- Since selection is based purely on percentage of marks in the qualifying examination, candidates should ensure their CGPA-to-percentage conversion is calculated correctly as per their Board/University’s official norms before applying.
- Candidates should verify their domicile eligibility carefully, since this apprenticeship is restricted to residents of specific states and union territories in North India, and applications from ineligible domiciles will not be considered.
- Given the wide spread of training locations across airports in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, candidates should be mentally prepared to be posted at any notified airport within the Northern Region, since the allocated location is final and non-negotiable.
- Candidates who have already undergone 1 year or more of apprenticeship or job experience after their qualifying exam should note they are not eligible, so freshers within the eligible passing-year window (2024 onwards) should prioritize applying promptly given the seat-specific, first-come consideration nature of many apprenticeship drives.
About This Recruitment
This large apprenticeship engagement drive, covering 205 seats across engineering, aviation-technical, IT and office-support disciplines, reflects AAI’s continued investment in building a skilled talent pipeline aligned with the rapid expansion of civil aviation infrastructure across North India. Candidates selected as apprentices gain valuable hands-on exposure to airport operations, engineering maintenance, and administrative functions at some of India’s busiest and most strategically important airports, including those serving Delhi, Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Amritsar and Lucknow. While the apprenticeship itself does not guarantee subsequent regular employment with AAI, as per the Apprentices Act framework, it is widely regarded as a strong resume credential and networking opportunity within the aviation infrastructure sector for engineering graduates, diploma holders and ITI-trained candidates from the eligible domicile states.
About Airports Authority of India
Airports Authority of India (AAI) is a ‘Miniratna’ Category-1 Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, constituted by an Act of Parliament in 1995 through the merger of the erstwhile National Airports Authority and International Airports Authority of India. AAI is responsible for creating, upgrading, maintaining and managing civil aviation infrastructure across the country, including airport terminal buildings, runways, air traffic control services, and navigational aids. The Northern Region of AAI covers a vast and strategically significant stretch of airports across the National Capital Region, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh, several of which serve high-traffic metro routes as well as sensitive border and hill-region connectivity, making apprenticeship exposure at these airports particularly valuable for engineering and aviation-technical graduates.
Why This Apprenticeship Opportunity Matters
Apprenticeship engagements under the Apprentices Act, 1961 provide structured, practical, on-the-job training that complements formal academic education, and engagements with a large, technically diverse organization like AAI expose apprentices to real airport engineering, IT, and administrative operations that are difficult to replicate in a classroom setting. For Graduate and Diploma Engineering candidates in fields like Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Aeronautical and Computer Science, as well as ITI-trained candidates in Computer Hardware & Networking and COPA/Stenography trades, this apprenticeship offers direct exposure to the aviation infrastructure sector, a stipend-supported training year, and a credential that can meaningfully strengthen future job applications, whether within AAI’s own subsequent recruitment cycles or in the broader civil aviation and infrastructure industry.
