About This Recruitment
The 7th (IR) Battalion of the Andhra Pradesh Special Police at Maddipadu, in Prakasam District, is bringing in support staff across nine different outsourced categories under G.O.Ms.No. 120, dated 26.06.2023, which governs outsourcing recruitment for the Home Department. With 37 posts spread across roles from clerical work to kitchen, sanitation and grooming services, this notification reflects how battalion campuses depend on a wide mix of support staff to keep daily operations running, alongside their core policing functions.
Why the Selection Process Differs by Post
Since the nine posts advertised here range from office-based roles like Record Assistant to hands-on trade work like Barber and Cook, the selection process is deliberately structured differently for each category. Record Assistant and Office Sub-Ordinate candidates are tested mainly on written knowledge and computer skills, since their work is desk-based, while Sweepers, Scavengers, Cooks, Dhobis and Barbers go through a Read & Write Test followed by a hands-on Skill Test, since their day-to-day duties depend far more on practical ability than academic knowledge. This structure ensures each candidate is judged on the specific skills their post actually demands.
Points to Note Before Applying
Since applications here are accepted only offline, through walk-in or post submission at the Commandant’s office in Maddipadu, candidates should plan to either travel to the office directly or send their documents well before the 11 September 2026 deadline to avoid postal delays, since the notice states the department will not be responsible for late receipt. Candidates should also keep in mind that debarment applies for furnishing false information or incorrect declarations, so all self-attested documents should be carefully checked for accuracy before submission.
Important Links
Where the Largest Number of Openings Lie
Among the nine categories, Cooks account for the single largest share with 14 posts, followed by Sweepers at 8 posts, together making up nearly 60% of the 37 total vacancies. Candidates with cooking experience or basic culinary skills, or those comfortable with cleaning and sanitation duties, therefore have a proportionately wider set of opportunities in this recruitment compared to the single-vacancy Record Assistant and Office Sub-Ordinate posts, where competition per seat is likely to be sharper.
