Indian Railways has released a new recruitment notification for 119 Section Controller posts through the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs). Who Can Apply?

Candidates who have completed a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University can apply for this recruitment. Both freshers and experienced candidates are eligible if they fulfill all the required conditions.

Educational Qualification

To apply for the post of Section Controller, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree (Graduate) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized University or Institution.

Only candidates who already have the required qualification before the last date of application are eligible. If your final semester result is still pending, you should not apply because such applications will not be accepted.

At the time of Document Verification, candidates must produce their original educational certificates and mark sheets. If the degree certificate is issued after the last date, the candidate must produce the consolidated mark sheet or other valid proof showing that the result was declared before the closing date of application.

Age Limit

The age of the candidate will be calculated as on 01 July 2026.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation will be available according to Government of India rules.

Candidates claiming age relaxation must produce the required certificates during Document Verification.

Application Fee

Candidates have to pay the examination fee online while submitting the application form. After appearing in the CBT, a part of the fee will be refunded to eligible candidates as per RRB rules.

The application fee should be paid online through the available payment methods.

Salary

Selected candidates will be appointed as Section Controller under Pay Level-6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.

Along with the basic pay, selected candidates will also receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), Medical Benefits, Leave Benefits, Pension benefits as per Government rules and other Railway allowances. The approximate in-hand salary may be around ₹52,000–₹60,000 per month, depending on the place of posting and applicable allowances.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
2. Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
3. Document Verification (DV)
4. Medical Examination
5. Final Merit List and Appointment

Candidates who qualify in the CBT will be shortlisted for the CBAT. The final merit list will be prepared by giving 70% weightage to CBT marks and 30% weightage to CBAT marks. Candidates must also pass the prescribed Railway Medical Examination before final appointment.
